Addressing the Classes

With caste playing such an important role in the day to day lives of the people of Mirabilis, correct forms of address are key to keeping one's head as you move about in society. Whom you speak to and how you address them are entirely dependant on your status in the caste system.

Social Classes of the Five Kingdoms

The various social classes of the five Kingdoms are in a state of constant flux, marriage, death, inheritance, honor and the will of the Gods can see a family transition between all of the various levels of caste and rank. For the most part, you are born to the life you will lead, but with hard work, skill, honor and the blessings of the Gods one may find themselves changing their own fates.

Royal

Royalty

These are the members of the ancient houses of the royal line of Emperors, Ruling over the realm of men for as long as history has been written. Since the appearance of the Jorith-Kai however, there are very few branches of the families remaining.

Please remember that this is subject to constant change and the placement of the houses depends on the wealth, power and honor of each member.

Nobility

Nobility

Ruling over the five kingdoms they are often Kings and Queens with lands of their own. Varying degrees of rank exist but they are generally the most powerful people in all Mirabilis. In order to be a Noble, one must be born to Noble Blood or be raised to the position through marriage or deed. It is quite common for Nobles to field roles in the Senate, Temples and Collegium.

Middle Class

Middle Class

Usually a step above commoners by money, skill and property, the Middle classes of Mirabilis are the skilled tradesmen of the realms. Healers, Lawyers, Farm Owners and Merchants they are the ebb and flow of commerce in the realms.

Commoners

Commoners

The backs upon which the realms were built, the common man or woman work, serve and provide the goods that are used by those in stations above them. They are also found in the military and service to the empire.

Outcasts and Outlaws

Outcasts and Outlaws

Those who live outside the norm of society, thieves, criminals, brigands and the like. These people are not protected by the laws and justice of the lands and are often short lived though dramatic their lives never want for action.

Deriving from the station of the outcast and outlawed, there are no houses or great clans. To be true, collecting a list of every soul in this caste would be a demanding and constant job (seeing as how they often meet their ends frequently). As such there is no written record to date of each of the people in this caste.
